Undoing Unwanted Edits
From Picture Tutorials
Note: I can't find the actual "revert page" stuff, so that will come later. This way works too.
Did someone screw up one of your pages, or do something malicious? Here's where I'll show you how to easily undo it. And click here for how to ban them from your wiki.
We will use this wiki's Main Page as the example. Let's say someone adds "I LIKE KITTIES!!!!" to my main page (I didn't want to actually use anything inappropriate, so just bare with the kitties). At the top of that page, click on "history". I circled the history button and the unwanted text in yellow.
A list of previous edits will appear, with the username or IP address for who made the edit. I circled the username in yellow, for the most recent edit that we want to undo.
To the far left of that username (or IP address) there is a "last" link. Click it.
This will show you a side by side comparision of the changes that where made. I circled "Line 2" where the "I LIKE KITTIES!!!!" edit appears.
On the left side, you will see "Revision as of" and the date, which should be in purple text. Click that link.
The version of the main page before the user had added the unwanted text, now appears. At the top of the page, click the edit button.
After this page loads, it should still have text above the edit box that indictates that you are still looking at the revisions.
Scroll all the way down and click on the "Save Page" button, and the damage is now undone.
